Alex Chapin has been involved in the design, development and implementation of technologies for teaching, learning and research for over 15 years at a variety of institutions of higher education including Columbia University, University of Virginia, Middlebury College and University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
He was the Principal Investigator of the Segue project, an open source curricular content management system that received a Mellon Award for Technology Collaboration in 2007 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for its pioneering work implementing open standards for systems interoperability developed by the MIT Open Knowledge Initiative. He is one of co-designers of the Course Hub, course resource provisioning platform in use at Middlebury College and the Monterey Institute of International Studies. He is the principal developer of the iSpeak series of phrasebooks and study guides published by McGraw-Hill.
